Autumnal Run to South Kilvington – October 17th 2010
A near record sixteen cars met at the Dogwalkers’ Strensall car park on a chilly but bright and sunny morning for our last run of the season.

Tony’s route took us north through Sheriff Hutton, up Terrington Bank and into the Howardian Hills before dropping down into Hovingham.

The cavalcade then turned north-west towards Sutton Bank through some beautiful autumn scenery in the Hambleton Hills. We took to the narrower back roads at Sutton continuing through the villages of Boltby, Kirby Knowle and Upsall before arriving at The Old Oak Tree at South Kilvington in good time for Sunday lunch.

And a very good lunch it was too!

Our thanks, of course, go to Tony for organising a pretty route, a fine venue and brilliant weather. We won’t mention the surprise re-routing that Tony had laid on for our homeward journey whose diversion led to much headlight flashing and unplanned head on meetings with the friends we had just said goodbye to!
