Matters arising
None.
President’s report
The events in 2009 were on the whole well supported.
The South Kilvington run was well attended with a good run and nice meal.
The JORVIK RUN was very successful, raising over £1,750 for Marie Curie Cancer. Preparations are well under way for this event and those who have been on last year events should have already received their application forms, if you have not please contact Guy or Dave Bulmer. The committee would like to thank Peter Kirby who took some excellent photos of the cars which we were very glad to receive along with the application form for this year.
The evening runs in May & July were well supported and were enjoyed by everyone.
The September run to Hayburn Wyke was a great success and thanks must go to Mike Boddy for organising a cup and a bottle of wine for the best car; Mike Luscombe’s MGA
The Chairman’s report
The Chairman thanked all present for support during the past year, has been a successful year building the club and improving benefits.
The Web site is running well 1000 hits – thanks to Richard Kimberley and Anne Kimberley for their efforts.
Thanks proposed to Web site sponsor (York MG) for their support. (Letter of thanks to be sent to Graham Allaway)
The Chairman proposed to make the Web editor a Committee post and to introduce a Membership secretary to help cover the retiring treasurer post.
Again thanks to Derek and presented a parting gift.
Thanks to those who organised runs and events and it is good to see new members at our club meetings.
It is important that we help ourselves e.g. talk of ladies section and occasional mixed Monday night meets. We must take responsibility for changes and improvements – some ideas may work some may not - we are a small club but we must always strive to improve and enjoy ourselves.
We must continue to build – MG is known as the marquee of friendship – this must continue.
The Secretary’s report.
Thanked Pete and Tony for their support in 2009.
We have had a good year and I will continue with the rest of the committee to try and promote the club and attract more new members.
We will look forward to 2010.
The Treasurers report.
We have had a good year and we have got a healthy cash balance of £1038.78. Derek did have concerns that if we could not get sponsors for the Jorvik Run then our cash reserve could soon become depleted. Thanks were given to Ian for auditing the accounts and he was presented with a bottle of wine.
