The last dazed run of 2009

Wishbone Ash Run (Blowin Free)

Starting from the dogwalkers car park at Strensall we had the last dazed run for 2009 to Mathewsons Museum at Thornton le Dale but apart from myself and mate John the only one to turn up was Derek the tiler in his 74 (I think) B.

So off we went on a miserable morning via Flaxton, Sherrif Hutton, Terrington, Amotherby and Great Habton to arrive before the rain. The museum is well worth the £2 entry and it is very easy to while away a few hours there. I got the impression that everything is for sale but nothing has a price on it. It is very much like a junk shop and all the better for it

We then went to the pub at Levisham for lunch and afterwards to Levisham Station where there was a very nice looking MGB in the car park that belonged to one of the railways volunteers. We were also chatting to an ex Midget and B owner from the West Riding (I know, I know, but old habits die hard!) who was there with his wife on an early 60’s motorbike, a Tiger Cub, if any of you remember them.

We headed for home pretty much by the same route we had used earlier and despite the weather it was a really good day out.
