dazedandconFUSED 20 August 09
The Kate Bush Run (Cloudbusting)

‘dazedandconFUSED’ ventured forth yet again on the 20th of August.
Meeting at the Duke of York again we had three cars, Mike Body, Dunnington Dave and myself with mate John as usual. The weather was overcast, cloudy and looked as if it might rain before the day was out. But we are hardy souls, Yorkshire men through and through and not to be deterred by such trivial things that would put off those from lesser counties. So off we went via Buttercrambe, Langton, Settrington and Scagglethorpe to the Classic and Sportscar Centre at West Knapton.Traffic was light and we got there in good time.
We then proceeded to look around their stock of cars and enjoy the refreshments provided (pre-organised by Mike). Plenty of cars to look at, a nice Frogeye Sprite, a very nice MGA, a couple of TR6s, a Morgan, E types, Morris Minors, a Sunbeam Alpine, two Corvettes, a Ferrari, three MGBs and lots more.
Then we were off again to Mathewsons at Thornton le Dale to look around their selection of classics. More nice cars to look at including a very nice TA and a TDC factory competition car. After Mike saw the £2 charge to go into their museum and nearly fainted we thought we should adjourn to Cropton for lunch.
While we indulged ourselves inside the rain came down outside but luckily we had raised our hoods when we parked up. After an enjoyable lunch we headed for home via Nunnington, Sheriff Hutton, where the rain finally caught us and we put our hoods up, and Strensall.
Another good day out, traffic not too bad and we almost got away with it weather wise!
